Terms & Conditions

 

 

1. Scope of Services

Burton PAT Testing provides Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services, including inspection, testing, labelling, record keeping, and certification of electrical appliances to ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.

 

2. Payment Terms

• All invoices are due for payment within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Payments can be made via bank transfer or cash.
• Late payments may incur a 5% interest charge per month from the due date until full payment is received.

 

3. Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice.
• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a £25 call-out fee.

 

4. Liability

• While all reasonable care is taken during testing, Burton PAT Testing shall not be held responsible for pre-existing faults or damage to appliances.
• Appliances that fail the test must not be used and should be repaired or removed from service.

 

5. Certification & Labelling

• Appliances that pass the test will be labelled accordingly and a certificate & report will be issued via email once payment has been received.
• Failed items will be labelled with a red warning tag, and the customer will be notified immediately.

 

6. Access Requirements

• It is the client’s responsibility to ensure access to all appliances to be tested. Inaccessible appliances will be excluded from testing and noted on the certificate or if agreed with by client a class 3/visual only test would be carried out at the same price as a normal PAT test.

 

7. Insurance

• Burton PAT Testing is fully covered by Public Liability Insurance.

 

8. Sole Trader Status

• Burton PAT Testing operates as a sole trader, is not VAT registered thus does not charge VAT.

 

9. Data Handling

• Client information and testing records will be stored securely and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent, in line with data protection laws.

 

10. Acceptance of Terms 

•     By engaging Burton PAT Testing, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
